This activity, which is a part of the Design and Modeling unit in PLTW Gateway, is empowering students to see how they can transfer what they learn in this class to their other courses. Students apply the concepts of physics, chemistry, and nanotechnology to STEM activities and projects, including making ice cream, cleaning up an oil spill, and discovering the properties of nano-materials. This phase is key, as data can be collected and used for the next idea for another partnership. All of these pieces of information can be utilized during the next design phase for the next partner.
